Joan Macdonald has been involved in the trucking industry for over four decade. As the owner of JVI Provincial Transportation and Safety Academy until April 2008, her school was accredited with the Council in November 1999. As the President of New Life Resources, she continues to support high quality training. Joan was a representative of the CTHRC accredited schools on the CTHRC Board of Directors for 2 years and is currently a member of the CTHRC Outreach steering committee. Joan’s passion for the industry was evident at Truck World 2010, in Toronto, when she volunteered to speak to high school students and counsellors about the careers opportunities in the industry. Joan continues to be an active advocate of the industry by promoting the careers and best practices in the trucking industry.
Joan has extensive knowledge of the transportation industry with over 4 decades of experience. Her experince includes over 30 years in the family business, BJ's Truck Centre.
She is Vice-President of Skills Canada PEI. As well, she is a member of the Transportation Outreach Steering Committee for CTHRC. Joan was also named a Champion of Human Resources 2010 by the CTHRC.
